About the Lab

Mission

(AI)² Lab is dedicated to advancing our understanding of glaucoma and other eye diseases. Led by Dr. Felipe A. Medeiros, M.D., Ph.D., a world-renowned expert in glaucoma and ophthalmology, the (AI)² Lab occupies over 1,500 square feet at the McKnight Vision Research Center – investigating how eye diseases impact patients' quality of life and ability to perform everyday tasks.

The lab develops innovative strategies and diagnostic tools to improve outcomes and prevent vision loss. Through numerous NIH grants and collaborations with academia and industry, the GRDS Lab drives innovation in imaging, functional assessment, clinical trials, big data, and machine learning.
